Bonnie ShekAustralia/New Zealand Hong Kong Trade Development Council Bonnie has extensive marketing, business development and management experience in Asia/Pacific. Before joining the HKTDC, she spent over ten years in the telecommunications industry, being responsible for developing marketing strategy and leading the Asia/Pacific consumer team. Bonnie holds a MBA (Executive) degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the National Treasurer/Secretary of the Hong Kong Australia Business Association.
Jason WatsonSpecial Counsel, FAL Commercial & Technology Lawyers Jason is Special Counsel at FAL Lawyers, specialising in national and international research, intellectual property (IP) and commercial collaborations. Jason commenced his professional career as the sole lawyer at an international university, responsible for the legal aspects of IP education, protection and licensing; including Chinese and other overseas partnering activities. Jason is a member of and accredited presenter for the Licensing Executives Society of Australia and New Zealand (LESANZ) and a member of the Society of University Lawyers (SOUL). He has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide and recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology Industry at RMIT.
Peter TeschCommissioner-General for Australia and Executive Director, Shanghai World Expo 2010 Unit, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Appointed to his current position in January 2008, Peter will oversee Australia’s participation in the Shanghai World Expo 2010. Before that he was in charge of DFAT’s information and communication technology services and planning area. He was Convenor of the 1996 National Trade and Investment Outlook Conference in Melbourne, and was responsible for planning and project implementation for Australia’s participation in World Expo 2000 in Germany. Peter has had three overseas postings since joining the department in 1987: Third Secretary in the Australian Embassy, Moscow (1989 -1991); Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan (1997 - 1999) and deputy head of mission in the Australian Mission to the United Nations in New York (2002 – 2005). He spent a year on the staff of the Minister for Trade (1993) and two years in DFAT’s Melbourne office (1994 – 1995) where his focus was on strengthening links between the department and the Victorian Government and business community in support of the Federal Government’s international trade and foreign policy agenda. Born in Brisbane in 1965, Peter graduated from the University of Queensland with a BA (Hons) in German and Russian.
