Mr. SHI Weiqiang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne. Mr. SHI Weiqiang has been a career diplomat for almost three decades, rising through the ranks from a staff member to his current position as Consul General in Melbourne. He has worked as a third secretary, second secretary, first secretary in the Permanent Mission of China to United Nations. And he has worked as the Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet Autonomous Region People’s Government. After that, Mr. SHI took his post as the Consul General of China in Cape Town in South Africa. He was a counsellor in the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to his posting in Melbourne.

Professor He-ling Shi works at the Department of Economics of Monash University and is appointed as the executive director of the Network of Increasing Returns and Economic Organisation. He has published over 20 research papers in leading economic journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organization, Journal of Comparative Economics and Economics Letter. Professor Heling Shi is among the top 25 economists in Australia during 1988-2000.

Dr Xueli (Charlie) Huang is Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, Australia. He was the Founding Director of the China-Australia Business Research Centre at Edith Cowan University between 2007 and 2010, and Deputy Director of Australia-China Iron and Steel Industry Training Centre between 1990 and 1995. His research focuses on Chinese investment in Australia, and strategic management. He is co-author of Chinese investment in Australia: Unique insights from the mining industry, published by Palgrave Macmillan (2011).

RMIT University. Dr. Deng's research focuses on Australian Businesses operating in China and Chinese Investment in Australia. Prior to her academia career in Australia, Dr. Deng has been working in different foreign invested businesses in Beijing, China for eight years. The accumulation of her professional and academic experience has markedly advanced her expertise in cross-cultural management between Australia and China.
